Black Friday, Without the Discount

Every shop you follow will spend the last week of November shouting a number at you. Forty percent. Fifty. Doorbusters. Some of those are real. Most are a price that was quietly raised in October so it could be cut in November.

We are not going to do that, and it is worth explaining why rather than just going quiet for a week.

Why there is no sale

Every piece here is cast to order in solid 925 sterling silver by a workshop that charges us per piece. That cost does not move because it is November. On the entry pieces at $199, a twenty percent discount would put the order under water once the platform fee is paid — not thin, actually negative.

We know because we tried. A discount ran earlier this year and was pulled two weeks early when the numbers came in: six of the nine pieces in it were selling at a loss. That is not a story most shops tell, but it is the reason this page exists instead of a banner.

The alternative — raising prices in autumn so they can be cut in November — is the thing we would have to do to run a real Black Friday sale. We would rather just not.

What the weekend is actually good for

There is a real deadline in it, and it is more useful than a discount.

Nothing here sits on a shelf. A piece is cast after you order it, which takes two to three weeks, then ships free and tracked. Counting backwards from the twenty-fifth of December, the last safe order date is November 29 — the weekend of Black Friday itself. Intricate casts, the heavily carved bands and anything with several set stones, need longer: November 15.

So the useful thing to do that weekend is not to hunt a code. It is to order the thing you were going to order anyway, while it can still arrive in time.

If you want a lower price

There is a standing code — WELCOME10, ten percent off a first order, available every day of the year and not just in November. It is on the shop the whole time precisely so nobody has to wait for a manufactured moment.

Beyond that: the entry pieces start at $199, and they are the same silver, the same oxidising and the same workshop as the ones above them. A smaller piece is not a lesser one.

Do you do Black Friday deals?

No. The pieces are cast to order and the make cost does not change in November, so a deep discount would mean selling below cost. WELCOME10 gives ten percent off a first order and runs all year.

When is the last day to order for Christmas?

November 29 for most pieces — two to three weeks to cast, plus shipping. Intricate casts need until November 15. Message us first if you are close to the line.

Will there be a sale later?

We would rather not promise one. When something has run before it has been narrow and short — and the last one ended early because it was losing money.

Is the silver the same on the cheaper pieces?

Identical. Solid 925 sterling silver, stamped, oxidised the same way by the same workshop. The price difference is size, stones and how long a piece takes to carve, not material quality.
