Duskgild · The Register · Gothic Rings

Images are AI-generated renders of the design, not photographs of your cast piece — which is made to order in solid 925 sterling silver to this same design. Real-cast photographs are added as pieces come back from the bench.

A bat caught mid-flight and pinned to a band. The wings spread flat along the front of the ring and wrap the curve, membranes darkened, the fine bones of the wing left bright. The rest of the band is hammered — small facets that hold their shadows. An omen is a small dark thing that arrives before the news does.

From the dark register — Duskgild's memento mori line. Solid 925 sterling silver, hammered and oxidized so the marks read deep and the raised edges stay bright. All-metal, no stones. Out of the same night as Nocturne, the bat-wing ear cuff, and Umbra, the bat-wing cuff bracelet — the same creature, worn three ways.

Why you can trust it

  • Solid 925 sterling silver. The real metal all the way through, not a coating.
  • Any detail of this piece can change. The stone, its colour and cut, the metal finish, the size, the engraving, the proportions — because it is cast after you order, nothing here is fixed. Ask for the changes you want before you buy. Change enough and it stops being this design and becomes yours, at no extra cost beyond what the new piece takes to make.
  • All metal, no fillers. Solid silver throughout — this piece is set with no stones.
  • No plated base metal. Solid sterling all the way through — not silver-coloured brass.
  • We tell you how it ages. The dark is an oxidized patina, not a coating — only microns thick. Worn every day it wears brighter along the raised edges while the recesses stay black. That is how oxidized silver ages, and it is not a fault.
  • Made to order, and protected. Free US shipping, thirty-day returns, and Etsy buyer protection on every order.
  • Wearing it on Halloween? Order by September 23 — it is cast after you order, so that is the last day the making and the post office both fit. Intricate casts take longer; ask us first.

Wearing it

Omen is a thin band — roughly 3 mm — so it wears every day and stacks without crowding. The bat lies flat along the front rather than standing off it, which means it slides under a glove and doesn't catch. Worn beside a plain hammered band is how it reads best.

Made to order

Every Duskgild piece is made after you order it — cast in solid 925 sterling silver, hand-oxidized, and shipped — most pieces in 3–4 weeks; intricate casts can take up to 5. Nothing comes off a shelf. Ordering and payment run through our Etsy shop, so buyer protection is handled for you. Want something that isn't in the register? Commission your own piece — bring a reference, a sketch, or three words.

Keep dry; polish the raised silver gently and leave the oxidized recesses dark — the finish is meant to deepen with wear.
