Here that color is an oval lab-created ruby, raised in four claw prongs between two round brilliant lab-created white sapphires: the classic trilogy, one stone each for what was, what is, and what will be.

The gold is a finish and the silver underneath is real: every Amaranth is cast in solid 925 sterling silver, then gilded in 18k gold (or left in polished silver, if you'd rather). The band is kept deliberately plain and polished so the three stones carry the whole argument — a ruby engagement ring, a July birthstone, or an anniversary that counts in threes.
